Majority Text: The majority of extant manuscripts, representing the Byzantine text type.
majuscules: Capital letters used in manuscript copying.
manuscript: A copy of an ancient text in the language in which it was written.
manuscript stemma: A genealogical tree of manuscripts with similar texts.
Masoretes: A school of European Jewish scribes who helped preserve the Old Testament text between A.D. 500 and 1000 and who standardized vowel pointings for the consonantal Hebrew text.
mechanical inspiration: A view of inspiration in which it is thought that God dictated each word verbally to those who wrote the Scriptural texts.
minuscule manuscript: A manuscript written in lowercase cursive script.
